Independent schools and summer camps:
VincentCurtis: Publishers of Articles About Independent Education
VincentCurtis was established in Boston in the mid-1930s by M. S. Vincent and Benton Curtis. In 1941 they began publishing The Educational Register, an annual parent guide to independent schools, colleges and camps, featuring articles by school heads, college presidents and camp directors, and offering a unique insight into the advantages of independent education. With support from a limited number of advertisers, The Register was distributed without charge to families with school age children, libraries and educational consultants. The birth of the Internet encouraged VincentCurtis to develop an expanded user-friendly version of The Register on the Web at www.TheEducationalRegister.com, and today our website reaches millions of parents and students worldwide producing thousands of visits daily.
Articles published in The Register not only offer parents a helpful look into current trends in independent education, but also serve as an effective, long-term source of publicity for the authors and their schools, colleges and camps. New articles are featured each year, linked to the authors or their programs, and available for download in PDF format. Articles remain on file and searchable by key words as long as the programs remain on our website. More than 800 articles on a vast array of subjects related to independent education have been published since 1941.
